Last night was the premiere of "You're the One That I Want" but I didn't know it, and missed it. :( Been looking for it on BitTorrent, but haven't found one yet. Sad! But it got me to bust out my Grease CD today. Oh, man, that movie is great. I would LOVE to see the show when it finally does hit Broadway. All the more reason that I really need to go to New York! Does anyone know when this new revival is supposed to open? Playbill says rehearsals are supposed to start around April 1.

We're gearing up for another snow storm this week. Sounds like it's supposed to be more than a dusting - enough to make the area pretty messy. And of course, it hits on Wednesday - my "Monday." :P Oh boy. *throws piles and piles of long johns on the "to wear to work" pile*

And for you Wicked fans, this audio clip of Idina talking about her fall down the trap door is hilarious. She sounds so freakin' hyper - at least she remembers it in a humorous light. :P

ETA: WOO! A torrent is up! Finally! *runs to download*

And we have now crossed the four day mark! As of half an hour ago, we've now gone over four full days without power. The temperature inside the house is down to 47 at the moment (actually up a degree from this afternoon!), although that may drop overnight. I was playing with the flashlight and giggling at the fact that I could see my own breath inside the house. So now I'm back at my friend's place tonight, for more warmth! Still no word on when we'll get power back in our own home. The latest update to Puget Sound Energy's website could put us as either day-to-day or possibly not til Friday or Saturday. Agh! Ah, well, not much we can do but wait...

The mall was definitely jam-packed today. Between the people trying to escape to heat and the people trying to finish up Christmas shopping, it got pretty crazy at times. The grocery store was fully restocked, though! Except still not much in the ready-to-eat hot foods - all they had was a full roast chicken, and I didn't need a whole chicken just for me. :P At least the food court was open, though, so I got some real food! Many supplies here at still tight, though, despite the fact that many areas have power back. My dad said when he went out to get stuff today (batteries, propane, lamp oil, etc) he was told that people were showing up at store opening and buying all their stock by the case. *headdesk*

In happier news, I was SO glad to read last night that Julia Murney and Kendra Kassebaum will be taking over their respective roles in Wicked on Broadway beginning in January! EEEEE! OMG, they both deserve it so much. Fantastic performers, both of them, and I only wish I could go to New York and see them again!

HAPPY WICKED DAY!!!!!

I finished Good Omens this week! I thought it was absolutely hilarious, and now I'm kinda bummed that the movie plans were scrapped. The ending kinda left me disappointed and scratching my head in confusion, but the bulk of the book was fantastic.

Elphaba and Fiyero doodle! )

From the 'WTF?!' Department today... )

OMG WICKED AGAIN!!!

Review-age and squee-age under the cut )

All in all? AWESOME. And I really, really need to see this one again. Badly. :P (Because apparently three times in two months just isn't enough...)

[info]muldy and I just spent the evening watching Lion King, Lion King 2, and Aladdin... and tomorrow, it's off to Vancouver!! EEEE!

Okay, I've been feeling the need to read good Wicked fic. Wicked fans on my f-list, point me at your reccommendations! I mainly like either gen or Elphaba/Fiyero, but I'm totally down with good Gelphie, too. Bookverse or musicalverse, doesn't matter to me. :)

I feel artsy. I wanna draw, but I don't know what I wanna draw. It's most annoying.

I really need to stop playing in the arcade at SM... it's addicting. The newest games? HOOKED. I can't stop playing IceHockey, Blast Billiards, and Seal Bounce. :P I skip between those as well as Queen's Jewels and Bejeweled. :P

Fantasy Football is going relatively well! I'm dominating the MiceChat league - and two of my best players have been totally benched so far! Once Steve Smith and Clinton Portis get back into the game, it will be a slaughter. :P In the VF league... I made an 'eh' showing last week... this week I did really weel point-wise... but lost by half a point. We're only two weeks into the season, though! No worries.

Another W for the Seahawks! It was a pretty pathetic show, indeed - the Hawks should have been able to squash Arizona into the turf. That game was far closer than it should have been. But what matters in the end is the win, and we're 2-0! The big test will be NY next week...

Oh, and that Miller Lite ad where they overflow each others' beer? It doesn't work too well unless you hit them pretty hard.

...not that we, like, tried that today or anything.

...it was in the name of science, I tell you!

ETA: HA! Just found this 2005 vid of the opening number of Cirque de la Mer (side poles only)... and you can totally see me sitting on the steps at the beginning.

ZOMG I SAW WICKED AGAIN!!! *squees and runs in circles* And OMG, Kendra Kassebaum is totally my hero. She's so freakin' awesome. Again. :P

Headed up to Orange County early, and pit-stopped at Disneyland for awhile! I got there just as Parade of Dreams was hitting Main Street, so I stopped to tape that. Yaaaay, Lion King show stop! Afterwards, I decided to go get my Jack Sparrow love, so I joined the long-ass Pirates line. After half an hour of waiting, just as I'm getting past the parrot/map part inside, the line stops moving... and never restarted. We got the dreaded about-face command from the CMs. *cries* After hearing some of the crap coming out of the mouths of the family behind me (your child is obnoxious because YOU are obnoxious, asshat) directed at the CM, I stopped to tell the CM thanks for doing his job well, and good luck in dealing with the stupid people. Seriously, I get so sick of the crap people give CMs when a ride breaks down, as if it's their fault. They deserve major kudos for dealing with that all the time. Anyways, I ended up just wandering around for awhile after that. Got some food, and watched the watch artist on Main Street for awhile. God, their artwork makes me so jealous. He was doing a watercolor of Lady, and it was AWESOME. If I had his mad art skillz, I could die happy. Also stopped at World of Disney and window shopped for a bit - I figure that if there's anything I really want from the parks, I should get it now! But in the end... yes, I went to Disneyland and didn't go on a single ride. :P

Then it was over to meet [info]roguecows to go see Wicked!!! EEEEE! OMG, it was SO AWESOME again!! The audience there was even more receptive than the one in San Diego. They REALLY got into it! Hell, people were screaming and cheering as soon as Julia Murney hit that last note in "The Wizard and I" and cheered through the whole duration of it! Kendra Kassebaum was once again TEH AWESOME. She is the bestest best Glinda EVAR. "SPARKLES!!!!" XD Since the Kendra "Popular" vid I linked to last time on YouTube has since been removed (YouTube taking down good bootlegs makes baby jeebus cry!) here's a new one I found on there (although she totally bifs up one line :P)! I also really loved when the Tin Man's hat totally fell off in the middle of "March of the Witch Hunters" and he couldn't get it back on. Ah, the bane of live theater! :P Dammit, why can't this show be around all the time?! :P

WICKED IS GETTING AN OPEN-ENDED LA RUN!!!!!

Dude, I was just saying last week that I hoped that Pantages would get it for an open run. And now it is!!! XD I'm SO getting tickets. And they're not all that expensive, really! If I can save up a bit of extra cash, I might even spring for the good seats. SQUEEEEEE!!! Feb 2007, baby! Now I'm going to sit here and anxiously await a cast announcement...

Anyways, yes, started the new job today! Seems pretty decent. The people are all really helpful. The job itself is pretty monotonous (switching the mice from dirty cages to clean cages, changing food and water), but the rooms I've been assigned are breeding rooms, so I get to deal with all the baby mice. XD I found two new litters this afternoon - so cute! And it's nice that I can wear whatever I want to work, 'cause I change into scrubs and all when I get there. Regular M-F schedule, decent pay... not a bad deal, all in all!

The costume is coming along well! I finished the vest, shirt, and pants (although I need to get two buttons for the pants), and am working on the boots now. I found a site that showed how someone modified shoes into pirate boots, so I'm working off that model with a pair of ankle boots I found at WalMart for $5. And now my apartment totally reeks of E6000. But hey, it's less than $15 total for a pair of pirate boots. For the extra work, I'll take it. :P I also got a Jack Sparrow hat at Party City, although it's the wrong color for Elizabeth's. Trying to decide if I'm gonna paint it, or actually re-cover it.

And HAPPY 51ST BIRTHDAY TO DISNEYLAND! Oh, man, the memories of last year's great 50th campout just come flooding back. Hands down, the most amazing day (and night before) at Disneyland EVER. You can ignore how much I look like a sleep-deprived dork as I proudly display one of the many free cupcakes shoved at me in restaurants that day, along with my l337 July 17th 2005 gold Mickey ears and even more l337 - or loser-y - orange wristband (meaning that I was in the first 750-1000 people to get into line the night before).
