Okay, I just have to post this, because it's too freakin' hilarious.

Most of you SGA fans have probably seen (or at least heard of) Zach Selwyn (of G4's "Attack of the Show") and his rap bid to be on Atlantis.

...so check out David Hewlett's answer: David Hewlett's rap bid to be on Attack of the Show.

All I know is: Rodney McKay + rap = hilarity.

(Check out his mad dance skillz at the end!)

Comic Con 2006!
Oh... my... god. Can I just say how much FUN I had today? I didn't think anything could top last year, but I was wrong.

ComicCon madness! )

Best. ComicCon. Ever. Pics for the day are up here. The vast majority are from the Stargate panel. :) When I get the chance, I'll add captions. :P

EDIT: my bandwidth for the month is almost gone, so if you can't get to that photo site, Abydos Gate also has a gallery of my photos here. :)

So about that weather thing? Now it's suddenly back into the low 70s. Weather is confusiiiing!

Been LOVING the season three pics starting to surface over the last few days. Particularly loved today's shots from Irresistable! Richard Kind is teh awesome. And the last shot in that gallery is way too cute!

I actually got off my lazy ass and did something today! Went to Borders and got The Grimmerie. EEEE! Big, pretty pictures! *huggles it* That book is GORGEOUS. And of course, because I can't just go into a bookstore, get what I want, and leave, I wandered around there browsing for ages. :P There was a SPIFFY book that was a collection of photos chronicling a day at the New Amsterdam Theater, where The Lion King played up until yesterday. I want that one, and I also gotta get more of Gregory Maguire's books.

Came home and realized that I'd missed the first two hours of Storm of the Century - again! :P And I was the one to post the reminder about it in the Wow thread yesterday, too. I'm on a roll, seriously. I've seen the last four hours many times, but keep missing the first part. Doh!

So I continued my productive streak... and FINISHED MY ATLANTIS JACKET! WHEE! The collar annoyed me a bit - it bunches up a bit too much for my taste. I put some interfacing in there to straighten it out, and that helped a bit. I may tinker with it here and there, but I think it's generally finished! EEE! I see things about it that I don't care for, but I think it's a HUGE improvement over the one I made last summer, and I'm very happy with this one! Did a quick'n'dirty photo session cause seriously, my apartment is still about a bajillion degrees and that jacket has a quilted lining, so I didn't have the patience to make it look good. ;) Here it is unzipped and zipped.

Sparky mood theme!
It's done! *evil laugh* After much collaboration with [info]finnstardust, we have finished our Sparky moodtheme! This one was much harder than the Weir one - we had to find pics of both of them with the correct expressions! We had to use a few that had only one or the other - but you Sparkies out there should know the scenes! ;)

This set uses images up through 2x20, "Allies."

Weir Mood Set
I finally finished my Weir mood icon set! Much thanks to all of you who helped give input along the way - y'all had some great ideas!

This set uses images up through 2x20 "Allies," however, I think I would only consider them "spoilery" up through "The Long Goodbye" or possibly "Coup d'Etat."

Yes, I'll also admit that there's a couple of slight Sparky hints in there. I couldn't help myself. ;)

SGA plot bunnies
After a particularly fascinating discussion of Dr. Weir in the WOW thread at GW, and a great discussion with [info]heylittleriver in my Coup d'Etat review comments here on LJ, I realized that I really need to find a place to keep track of all my SGA plot bunnies. Even as I write this, some of the ones I've had have slipped my mind. Anyways, some of them are just wondering about little things, some are bigger, full-on stories. Many center around Dr. Weir 'cause she's just awesome, and have Sparky angles 'cause hey... it's me!

Also, I may change or add to this entry as time wears on or ideas come up...

May contain spoilers! )

Oh, AladdinCentral, where have you gone? *cries*

Pop Bio midterm is done! W00t! I think I did pretty well. Answered each question pretty completely, and only really forgot one equation (the logistic predation model with satitaion) that should only lose me a couple of points.

Just got a message from the Wolf Center... new wolvies are jumping at the fence (I claim no responsibility! I did the digging, not the fences! :P) so they need people to sit at the edge of the fence to deter them from jumping while they fix the fences. I'll hafta call them back and see about when they need people.

OMG! She drew something! )

I touched greatness. Literally.
Holy crap... I thought it would be hard to top last year's Comic-Con, but I so did.

Before I tell the story, I must say that my new camera ROCKS. I want to marry it. I also want to say that I am building a personal shield around my apartment to protect me from the inevitable pounding from you other SGA fangirls. :P

Also, there was s much fun stuff discussed that I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff. [info]dcpesses, if you think of something big I missed, remind me!

Beware, there be Stargate spoilers ahead! )

The cast was sent away after that, so I ran back to my seat, elated, to wait for the Family Guy panel. Dear lord, I can't wait for the Stewie DVD! They showed preview clips, and it was hilarious! Peter talking to Mickey Mouse out of costume at Disneyland = priceless. And another happy surprise here, everyone at that panel was given a free "Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story" t-shirt! Woop!

So we head back down to the exhibit hall, and as we're walking through the Sony booth for more freebies, Danny nudges me and says hey... I look up, and there's Jason Momoa right in front of me!! I was really shy and went up to say hi, and he was SO nice! He said my jacket was awesome. :D And I GOT A PICTURE WITH HIM! Wooo! I touched THREE Atlantis men today!!!!!

Much wandering again after that (I think I saw Brad Wright wander through the SciFi booth, totally unnoticed) and I bought me a Stargate Atlantis sweatshirt as well as a cool X-Files poster with the "Ruins" novel cover art on it. I also stopped and shook hands with David Franklin and Lani Tupu, from Farscape, who were sharing a booth. :D

Other Comic-Con randomness:
-Stewie walk-around character. How much does that rock?!
-The Stargate SG-1/Atlantis pens given out by Sony. They light up and have the trippiest, blinking colors EVER. /easily amused
-One booth had these little Playmobil looking guys on it from various TV shows. When I was looking at the X-Files ones, they had a Peacock one from the episode "Home"... how creepy is THAT!?

Of course, as I said, I want to marry my new camera. Tons of pics up at my new photo location: http://xfkirsten.smugmug.com Now that I have a paid spot with unlimited storage (they only limit bandwidth) I could also upload full-size versions, although I did compress them for easier uploading. I know, I'm heavy on the David Hewlett photos, but he was so much fun that I couldn't help it!

WHEW!! Well, I'm off to get ready for Disneyland!

...BUT OMFG, I TOUCHED JOE FLANIGAN AND PAUL MCGILLION AND JASON MOMOA!
/still can't get over that
