So, um, I lose at the LJ updating game. Okies, let's see...

Last weekend: Sick. Not fun. Call in sick on Monday.

Wednesday night: [info]muldy and [info]dark_faith366 convince me that I need to spend another night in Vancouver. I agree. XD

Yesterday morning: I awake to much squee and bouncing, as Amy Adams has been nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for Enchanted, and "That's How You Know" has been nominated for Best Original Song.

Yesterday afternoon: [info]muldy comes to play! I play at Gameworks for a bit while I wait for her bus to arrive, then we head down to Pike Place and the waterfront for awhile. Lots of window shopping, a stop at the original Starbucks, then down to the waterfront to go to the Curiosity Shoppe. I stop and take a picture with McDreamy... or a cardboard cutout of him outside a touristtrap!giftshop selling Grey's Anatomy scrubs (and the tag on his chest just says "Dreamy" XD). The Curiosity Shoppe has a smashed flat walrus face. I don't remember seeing that one before, but it's entirely possible that I just never noticed it. It kinda blends in with the wall. It's kinda creepy. We head over to Seattle Center and try to go up in the Space Needle (I haven't been up there since my senior prom), but it is closed for a private party. :(

Yesterday evening: the drive from hell up to Van! Big accident on I-5, it takes close to 5 hours to get to Vancouver. Canadian Border Agent makes fun of me for not being able to understand him through his thick accent. Then proceeds to make fun of us for having Aussies in the car but no alcohol. Finally make it to Van. I park across the street from hotel, but parking meter won't accept money - the other people ahead of us have the same problem. All involved give up and just walk away and go into the hotel. Ten minutes later, we return to the car to go out for the night, and find Mr. Patroller writing up tickets. Bummer. I explain that the meter isn't working, and Mr. Awesome Patroller helps get the already-processed ticket voided.

We continue on to the Frenchies' place, but get distracted by a possible filming site for a Very Popular Film Currently In Production. Said site does not pan out, and me (notwhiny!Scully) and Fi's (notabducted!Mulder) mad ninja film site finding skills are pwn3d. We give up and continue on.

Hanging out with the awesome Frenchies! Squee and discussion of every topic under the sun happens. I drink a beer, but refrain from getting drunk this time. We hang out until 4 am, when we're practically falling asleep sitting up. We pile back into the car and head back to the hotel.

But wait! Where we were foiled earlier, a film site has magically appeared! It is totally unmarked. Curiosity abounds. Alas, it is on East Hastings, and I would not like to walk down East Hastings in the middle of the day, let alone 4:30 in the morning. I enjoy my life and my car, thank you very much. We remain in the car... but make several loops around the block, trying to spot any clues, hoping it's what we think it is. No one recognizable, but there are Chicago markings on emergency vehicles parked on the street. Hmm. In my little mind, it is The X-Files, and so shall it remain that way. XD

Back to the hotel, and finally to bed at 5 am... only to get up again at 7:30 to race back to Seattle for work. While stopping at the McDonald's in Ladner, I see signs for "The Day the Earth Stood Still" filming. I get the Really Really Slow Border Patrol Agent lane, and so crossing the border takes Forever despite the small lineup. I race home, then race to work for the day. And here I am.

My tooth hurts. I think I have a cavity. It hurts whenever I get jostled at all. This sucks, for so many reasons. I shall continue to give the ibuprofen bottle love. Lots and lots of love.

This crazy entry brought to you by Too Much Ibuprofen.

I might have passed you in Pike Place yesterday. I was there...

I wish I had known! I would have loved to have met you. Maybe next time...

Awww! What time were you there? We were there from like 2-5ish.

We were too, but we left around three to go to Westlake Center.
Kirsten[info]xfkirsten on December 17th, 2007 03:41 am (UTC)
LMAO! I started there. I was actually going to go shopping there while I waited for Fi's bus, but then got distracted by Gameworks. :P

Heeey "The Day the Earth Stood Still" - dude that's Keanu! *starts walking to Ladner* I'll be there next year, you reckon he'll still be around?

And hehe as far as I'm concerned it was X-Files we saw last night, I swear I recognised two of the PA's and yes I have spent enough time hanging around them to recognise LOL.
Kirsten[info]xfkirsten on December 17th, 2007 03:43 am (UTC)
Sure, I'm sure he never goes anywhere. ;)

XF really is the most logical choice, based on time of day, location, previous locations, the ambulance/police car, etc. It was totally XF.

See the bright side... you made it back alive! hehe

Awesome to see you again, I'm so missing you already... *hugs*
Kirsten[info]xfkirsten on December 17th, 2007 03:43 am (UTC)
I did! :P

I'll have an excuse to visit France now! As if I needed an excuse. ;)

Ooooh, a possible X-Files-filming-site?! Awesome :)
Kirsten[info]xfkirsten on December 17th, 2007 03:44 am (UTC)
I think it was The X-Files! Not too much filming going on in Vancouver at the moment, and it seems the most logical choice. :D

Then proceeds to make fun of us for having Aussies in the car but no alcohol.

The fuck? LMAO!!! We don't carry alcohol with us everywhere. Just most places ;)

That sounds like soooo much fun! *misses hanging with you guys* :(
Kirsten[info]xfkirsten on December 17th, 2007 03:45 am (UTC)
Well, we were coming back from the States, and I was the only one of legal US drinking age in the car. ;)

You need to come baaaaack!

Y'know, when I went to see Enchanted, I kept thinking of you. Actually, everything even remotely Disney related makes me think of you. :D

But I LOVED Enchanted and walked out wanting it on DVD and thinking that I was very glad you'd pointed me in the direction of the trailer originally. :)
Kirsten: Enchanted - RG[info]xfkirsten on December 17th, 2007 03:46 am (UTC)
LOL! Glad to hear you enjoyed it! I absolutely can't wait for the DVD. I really hope it has deleted scenes - it seems like some of the interviews and merchandise point to cool stuff that was cut out. And I'd kill for a good making-of featurette and some commentaries. And not to mention the fact that I could just watch it whenever I wanted. ;)

Dude, you must have been exhausted but I'm glad it was all worth it! :)

Sorry to hear 'bout your tooth. :( Ibuprofen ftw! ;)

Kirsten[info]xfkirsten on December 17th, 2007 03:47 am (UTC)
It was totally worth it!

My tooth is feeling a bit better now, but it still aches if I get really jarred around.

Ibuprofen ROCKS. It's not addictive either. :p

Good, 'cause it's my friiiiiend. XD

I think I solved a mystery yesterday!

One of my friends and I went to the movies last night, and alas, the flash of something shiny that I mentioned possibly seeing when Giselle is 'bunny hopping' in Morgan's room? I think it's coming from her necklace, not her finger. Drats.

...and I'm watching The Notebook on TV and there's Prince Edward all bandaged up after war injuries. :D
Kirsten: Enchanted - RG[info]xfkirsten on December 17th, 2007 03:50 am (UTC)
Awwww! Maybe the ring wasn't fitting on her finger at the moment, so she put it on a necklace. XD /grasping at straws

You should see the picture I took with the McDreamy standup. You would approve. XD ([info]muldy also insisted that we walk down to the ferry dock where they apparently shot a Grey's Anatomy ep. So the ferry crashed and it was considered drama? 'Cause dude, that happens all the time XD)
Ellen: Her hand on his shoulder[info]ariellen on December 17th, 2007 04:52 am (UTC)
...or it was mutually decided that they knew where this relationship was headed, but she likes this 'dating' thing and wants the full 'relationship development' experience and he hasn't quite lost his head enough to want to move things that fast, either, so she accepted the ring on a necklace until the moment comes for her to wear it on her finger? Or maybe the necklace itself was ring-less but was still given to her as a gift in a moment of adorable fluff that we should write about?

Speaking of writing, I revised my fic thus far and will e-mail it to you in the morning! :D

I was actually thinking that I'd love to see this picture. :D Is it at your SmugMug page?

Yes, the ferry crashed and it was considered something like "THE MOST DRAMATIC THING YOU WILL SEE ON TELEVISION THIS YEAR" (read: February sweeps). The fact that it happens routinely is now making me laugh at the silliness of TV. (That story arc had a lot of angsty!Derek love...)

ICON LOVE

OMG TEH FLUFFY FIIIIIIC! YEESSSS!! *should fire up her AU fic and get back to work on it tonight*

...I have to wait until morning? *cries*

No, but it is here. XD Ignore the really dorky look on my face and the windblown, too-much-time-in-the-rain hair. XD

They probably made it a lot worse than they usually are, but a couple of times a year, a ferry will ram the dock on some island and break the dock, and then the people on the island are stuck there for like a week while they fix it. :P I vaugely remember when they shot that episode here. The news was all freaking out over it, and every night, they'd report on where they'd been shooting that day. :P (hardly anything big ever films here)

THANK YOU. XD

*grabs your stick and seeks revenge!* XDD

I posted the last comment right before I went to bed last night, I'm sorry! :P

CUTE! That's fantastic. I do indeed approve! Of him, of giddy dorky smiles, of all of this. (Good thing I don't live in the area, or I'd probably approve enough to actually buy Grey's scrubs and then go "...and what do I use these for?")

Kirsten: Enchanted - Booze[info]xfkirsten on December 18th, 2007 06:15 am (UTC)
You are distracting me from the Christmas cards that I still haven't finished yet! XD (And the new Enchanted board that I keep checking every 5 minutes doesn't help, either.)

You wouldn't be alone. XD [info]muldy was having the same problem. XD
