So, more winning titles from today's shipment at work:
The Big Book of Masturbation
Yep. Exactly what it sounds like! :P
MouthSounds: How To Whistle, Pop, Boing and Honk For All Occasions... And Then Some
A whole book about how to make weird noises. :D
Woooo! Another XF movie article! I wonder if we'll get any explanation of what happened between the end of the series and the start of the movie? I really hope so. And am I the only one totally distracted by the idea of DD auditioning for Full House? I can't get past picturing him trying to be Uncle Joey. XD
Fandoms as Relationships:
♥ The oldest bestest friend, an early passionate love affair that turned into a deeper and more platonic love over the years, the one you'll always love no matter how stupid or screwed-up he may occasionally act: The X-Files
♥ The one who has always satisfied you, always made you happy, to whom you can always turn, and goddamit it people, why don't you appreciate them like I do?: Disneyland
♥ The one that no one else really understands what the attraction is, but they put up with it because hey, he seems to make you genuinely happy, and who are they to tell you that you can't have a fling?: Flipper
♥ The old flame you don't see very often any more but whom you still really enjoy getting together with for a few drinks and maybe a pleasant nostalgic romp in the sheets: Farscape
♥ The one you spent a whole weekend in bed with and who drank up all your liquor, and whom you'd still really like to see again although you're relieved he doesn't actually live in town: Star Wars
♥ The one who always manages to gather themselves for one last gasp, again and again, and dammit, you're such old friends that you don't have the heart to say no even though it's kind of embarassing the way they go on and don't retire gracefully: Star Trek
♥ The one who always, always breaks your heart, and yet you keep coming back, because part of you believes that this time, maybe it's really going to be different: SGA
Earth Day is coming up in just five days, and to that end, I thought of a nifty challenge for anyone on my f-list. Do a bit of research on an environmental issue that interests you. On/around Earth day, post an entry to your LJ that talks about the issue - what is is, why it's a problem, what research has been done, whatever floats your boat... but most of all, talk about solutions! What are options? What, if anything, can people do at home? What options do you think are the best and why? As an example of the sort of thing I'm thinking of, see my coyote post from a few weeks ago. It doesn't have to be that in-depth - it can be as basic or as comprehensive as you want! I just think this would be a fun way for everyone to learn something important about the world around us, and a way to really honor Earth Day. :)
