So I was thinking of going swimming today after work, since I only worked til 1... unfortunately, I played Wii Sports a bit too hard on Easter, and my whole right arm is still killing me after some vicious games of Wii Tennis. :P So instead I slacked off and sat at home. Played piano a bit (I'm always waaaay too shy to play around people, so I wait until I'm home alone!) and relaxed. Oh, and uploaded a new dolphin drawing to dA!

Also? Mad props to everyone in the Save Carson Beckett campaign! While I wholeheartedly believe that they were going to bring Carson back for appearances in season four regardless of what happened, I think the SCB campaign did an awesome job of coming up with fun, positive activities to support their campaign. The events were creative and geared towards having fun just as much as they were towards achieving a goal. While I wasn't involved myself, I was happy to see that some folks out there were able to turn a sad turn of events into a fun thing. I think that's more important than whether or not they got Carson back. Not only that, but (regardless of whether or not Carson would have been written in anyways) it was a way for fans and TPTB to work together so that both benefit - fans get Carson, the show gets free advertising. Productive all around. Congrats, guys! :D

ETA: ZOMG!! Dee Dee Magno is Nessa now on the Wicked tour?? SWEET! She was the best freakin' Jasmine I ever saw in the Aladdin production at DCA. (it amuses me that the best freakin' Aladdin I ever saw in that show also does Wicked now, with the LA cast) I didn't know she was married to Cliffton Hall (Fiyero)! Is their kid on tour with them, then, I assume?

Gorgeous drawing. I love how flawless the toning/shading is and you're truly a master of perspective. :)

I took lessons in grade school, but not for very long, so I'm not all that great at it. :P I've just played off and on since then, and haven't really gained much in the way of skill. :P

<3 Wii Sports <3 I FINALLY went pro in bowling; it took FOREVER!!!!

And yay Dee Dee! She was my favorite Mouseketeer on the 1980s/'90s Mickey Mouse Club, and I saw her as Kim in Miss Saigon on Broadway back in 2000.

Bowling is one I'm good at! I regularly score around 150+, and I don't even play it very often. I already was getting close to pro on my cousin's machine by the time I left on Sunday. :P

She was SO awesome as Jasmine at DCA. She was one of the few that I saw who could really play the role well. Most of them were either too soft-spoken or too bitchy - Dee Dee found just the right way to play the role so that she really stayed true to Jasmine. :)

I do the same thing with playing piano. I wait until there is no one home and then just play whatever I feel like without worrying what other people think! ;)

Unfortunately, I don't think Torri's situation is quite the same as Paul's... but I also haven't seen any indication from a large chunk of the Save Weir fanbase that they're ready to do fun stuff like that - all I see is bitching and moaning and finger-pointing. :(

Oh, they did fun rallies like the Scottish pipe band at Bridge Studios, going to stand in the crowd at the Today Show, things like that. They came up with fun event ideas that, regardless of the outcome, they could all have fun doing.

Interesting choice. I have to say, I adore Katie Rowley Jones as our Nessa. I saw her standby butcher the role once... Gaaaarrrrgh! Katie IS Nessa for me. I've actually (and this was a surprise when I realised) seen Katie in every UK production she's done professionally! Whistle Down The Wind, Beauty and the Beast, Rocky Horror Show and Wicked... I think there's one more as well. I didn't rate her as Belle, but she's an AWESOME Nessa.

You know, Nessa is one of the few roles where I'm hard-pressed to choose a favorite. Each actress I see in the role, I really love. :D

I won't play the piano around people either. I'm even paranoid about people walking by the house and hearing it.

LOL! I'd be freaked out by that, too! :P

I screw up constantly. I didn't take lessons for long, and a lot of what I've learned since has been self-taught entirely through practice/repetition. So my skill = crap. So I get really self-conscious about playing and people hearing me constantly screwing up and taking 20 minutes to get through a 5-minute piece. :P
