ALWAYS in the Stargate fandom! SGA is perpetual wank, especially where 'ships are concerned. This time, the wanksplosion occurs in the comments section of a producer's blog. :P

Is this about the blog? Because OMGWTFBBQ??!! I should have started a betting poll to see how long it would be until his blog went to fandom wank shite, thanks to anonymous commenting. Argh.

Yup! It's fun to read the blog, but dear lordy, people just feel the need to use it as a way to push their own agendas. Why can't people just read and enjoy, rather than try to use it to make their own ideas heard?

I agree, I'm tired of the ship agendas and the ship/shipper bashing and the snide comments at other fans. Funny though how the blog got turned around from fandom vs. Joe M. to fandom vs. fandom...intentional?

I'm positive that Joe gets a kick out of these things. Why post those comments otherwise? He enjoys stirring up the fanbase and setting everyone at each others' throats. The same thing happened with his first blog on GW - anonymous comments attacking Sam and Sam fans and Daniel and Daniel fans. Really vicious, awful stuff and Joe added gas to the fire by allowing those comments to get through until he shut the thing down.

Sigh.

I wouldn't be surprised if it were intentional! ;) I'm a veteran of the X-Files ship wars, and I see this fandom heading the same way... multiplied times a billion, since there's such a wide variety of pairings. :P

Really, I'd love to see JM just smack all of them down in a vicious blow. Maybe make John a hermaphrodite, just to throw them all. ;)

*lulz* I checked, some people just want to use the poor guys blog to keep on going with some personal grudge. They're making all sides look bad, and as a shipper/whumper/thunker I wish they'd all just shut up and take it to their LJs or GW. ;D

I am slightly (read=very) unhappy and kinda disappointed in fans that are using the mans personal blog to do this stuff. I'm not even going to follow the link. It will just make me sad and angry.

YES. That's what drives me nuts, too. People have taken over his blog to push their own agendas. I would LOVE to see Torri stick around, but you don't see me pushing pro-Torri agendas around in there! I read, joke around, and just enjoy the tidbits he gives us.

I gave up after a couple of comments. I assume an armada of S/W shippers came in to claim they never said anything bad about Joe? To think that you must either be a newbie or lying. How many times did a thunker come in, call a mod, and cause a 10-page debate whether the thread mainly thunked over Torri while constantly dissing Sheppard? Many times. (And they were right.) But the stuff was deleted pretty fast, plus 99% of comments were directed at Sheppard's crappy U-turn as a character, not Joe Flanigan.

Yup, got it in one. You're right, both sides are wrong. And trying to point fingers is like the six year old crying "he started it!" as if that justifies poor behavior. I have seen Sheppard dissed many times in the Sparky fandom. I've also seen characters dissed in other ship groups. ALL groups have people guilty of that sort of behavior... so why don't we just let sleeping dogs lie, and MOVE ON.

You know, I am disgusted by the behaviour of some of those anonymous posters. This is possibly the nastiest ship war I've seen in this fandom, and it's taking place on a PTB's blog. How embarrassing. :(
