SGA: The Tao of Rodney
It's Monday night! Here we go! :)

SGA: The Tao of Rodney
-Awwww! Poor Radek, having his house burned down!
-Rodney? Admitting he lost? *gasp* :P
-Oooh! Liz pwns Rodney! :P
-(the sound on this copy is kinda crappy, so I'm missing a lot of the dialogue I think)
-Lizzie's getting damn fast at reading Ancient! :P Girl is gonna be fluent in no time!
-LMAO! Rodney has magic powers... and Carson is Defying Gravity! :P
-"Does super-ego count as a power?" Ba-ZING!
-John and and Lizzie having a spat! :P
-"I'm just saying!" "...YES. You can be next."
-Damn! I wanna be able to levitate someone's donut away from them!
-"Batman and Ronon. It has a nice ring to it." "You keep eating like that, it's gonna be more like Fatman."
-Okay, what was Lizzie actually thinking? :P
-MINT JAR!! XD IT LIVED! XD
-LMAO! So David Hewlett basically had to memorize the lines for everyone else! :P
-NOOOO! Raaaadeeeeek!
-Awwww! Rodney saved Radek!
-Shirtless Zelenka. Wheee! XD
-Ascnedometer? My favorite new word!
-The thought of Rodney ascending is scary. :P
-Heee! Lizzie and John eating lunch together!
-John teaching Rodney how to meditate... as I remember, wasn't John bad at that part? :P
-Rodney: "So why are you here?" John: "Elizabeth made me." Hee! She has him whipped.
-Okay, the meditation scene? Sheer awesomeness. :D
-Awww! Liz supporting Rodney is so sweet! But when did she become an expert on ascension?
-Rodney and Radek talking it all out? Such a touching moment!
-Rodney and Teyla now? Eee!
-Rodney and Ronon... *dies* OMG HUG!!!! XD Awww! And Rodney healed Ronon's scars!
-Awww! Rodney wrote a book about Liz? 500 pages long?! :P
-Rodney needs big huggles!
-Poor Rodney collapsing, and John freaking! :(
-Awww, everyone's there to support him...
-*giggles* John's so awkward with the Rodney!love. :P *slash anvil*
-Wait... so how did Rodney figure out how to save himself?
-...so all he had to do all along was go back to the machine?
-Awwww! Ronon!hug! :D
-LMAO!!! Rodney accusing Lizzie of loving him? Hilarious!
-Okay, that whole last scene was flippin' adorable, and it made the McWeir adorable. :P

Overall: Fantastic episode! I wasn't all that interested in this one, but ended up loving it. Some wonderful character moments for McKay, where we get to see who he really is behind the snarky mask. I especially loved the scenes where he went to each of the team members and did something kind for each one - healing Ronon's scars, having the memorial tea with Teyla, writing the book supporting Elizabeth's past actions in Atlantis - it was nice to see again that he really does care for everyone, as much as he hides behind the snark. And I liked that everyone really got in on it - he found that he could turn to all of his friends in Atlantis for support. And yes, that they all love him. :P

Thank you very muchly for posting this. And so fast. I'm in Sydney Aus, where they don't air SGA at all (you lucky, lucky Canadians!), so ep summaries are really appreciated. Especially ones as entertaining and detailed as yours. Slash anvil is my new favourite phrase. So very funny.

Hehe, I'm in Sydney as well :)

Hi! Yay the green and gold! Except isn't it frustrating being an SGA fan?
Sapph: Snagged from <lj user=pellmelody>[info]sapphs on December 12th, 2006 10:36 am (UTC)
Nope :P I download all my stuff ;) Australian television sucks!

Thank ya! :D I wish I could take credit for "slash anvils," but I picked up that one from the [info]zeropointsnark recaps. :D

(I'm actually American, though these days I'm rather ashamed to admit that ;))
wellifnotwisely[info]wellifnotwisely on December 12th, 2006 10:35 am (UTC)
All the Americans I know personally are the most warm and wonderful people and I've only ever had the best holidays on your shores. I'm proud and lucky to call Americans my friends and, by marriage, my family.

There is, of course, nothing original in the universe - except, maybe, cutting-edge physics and maths. But having the wit and wisdom to recognise and repeat a great phrase counts for a lot, as does the ethics to acknoweldge your source.

You've met the good ones, then! ;) I'd really love to visit Australia someday - it sounds absolutely gorgeous!

As a science person, acknowledging sources has been repeatedly driven into my head. ;) But I'm a big fan of the "credit where credit is due" club! :)

Oh wow, reading this is making me desperate to see the ep. But I might wait until there's a better version up.

Thanks so much for the recap! It sounds fabulous!

Sadly, the copy I had has a very small image, so the caps would be teh sucky. :(

Heee! I know, I love Rodney, but I get tired of watching The Rodney Show, so I was pleasantly surprised that everyone was so involved in this one! :D

I stumbled across your journal....
Hi there,

You don't know me but I stumbled into your journal after previously seeing your posts on Gateworld and around LJ, and your art on deviantart. I hope you don't mind if I friend you. Your posts seem really interesting, and hey, Disney, cetaceans and Stargate - can't go wrong there! ;D

No problems if you don't want to add me back - I'm the first to admit that my journal is not the most interesting of places. ;p

And to make this comment at least somewhat relevant to your post - I really enjoyed Tao of Rodney too. I don't think there was anything that I didn't like about it (but then again. I'm a sucker for Rodney-based episodes).

Re: I stumbled across your journal....
Ah, welcome! I always love meeting new friends! :D I love your icon, BTW - it reminds me of all the hours I spent staring into a microscope in college, especially in invert zoology. :D

I really love Rodney. He's such a fantastic character with so much depth to him! I admit I groaned inwardly at the thought of him getting another whole episode about him (too much of a good thing!) but this one was so fantastically done that I just can't fault it! :D

Re: I stumbled across your journal....
Thank you. :D It's always a delight for me when I look down a microscope because of all the wonderful little creatures you see (and usually worth the eye-strain when I have to spend hours in front of one and I haven't got it hooked up to a computer).

I am a big Rodney/David Hewlett fan so I do look forward to McKay-centric episodes, but I do know what you mean. Too much isn't always a good thing, and I do like it when we get some team interactions rather than a single focus. But, as you said, this episode was done fantastically, so no complaints from this corner.
