SNOW FOOTBALL! EEEE! The Seahawks just played their first ever snowy home game. And WON. Take that, Green Bay! :P Jerramy Stevens has begun to regain his credit with me by catching that two point conversion and the touchdown... if he can keep that up, I might consider discontinuing my "cut Jerramy Stevens" campaign. And if I'm not mistaken, this is not only the first snowy Seahawks game in Seattle, but also the first snow game this year in the NFL, correct?
So our little "flurries" this afternoon added up a bit more than predicted. And it's a MESS out there. My mom called me at work around 7 to say that snow was piling up on the streets, and that we had about an inch on the road. Luckily we had far more people than needed tonight, so I headed home a few hours early. It wasn't bad until I got halfway home... when suddenly there was snow and slush all over the roads, and the main road up to my house was closed. I had to go up the old way, up a winding, woodsy hill. Luckily enough other people had to do the same thing that it was more wet than snowy, but at the very top a car a few cars ahead of me spun out and I quickly turned down a side road. I ALMOST got stuck when I had to go up a small hill on the packed snow (which at this point, was 2-3" of snow completely covering the road) but managed to make it up the hill and slide home. Yaaaay! It was an adventure. I got a photo of my front yard when it started to snow just moments before I left for work this morning. I'll have to get an "after" picture tomorrow when it's light out!
ETA: It's after 10pm, and the major freeways (especially 405) are so bad that it's literally a standstill! And it's supposed to get even colder, and the roads are going to be sheer ice in the morning - glad it's my weekend! :P
ETA 2: 10:26pm, Bellevue to Federal Way, via I-405, travel time is listed at 143 minutes - a delay of 121 minutes. That's worse than our worst rush hour traffic.
