Four trips to Disneyland in two weeks... I'm SO banning myself from Disneyland for awhile, for the sake of gas money.
dcpesses,
unspokenlonging and I finally got a chance to head back to the park togther!
Got there early to get a quick ride on Pirates in. Oh, man, I'm still in love with the new stuff! I had my f/1.8 lens with this time for photo-y goodness. They're still a bit on the dark side, but I can play with that in Photoshop later.
Thankfully, the heat seemed to really keep people away (it was supposed to be close to 100 F). The longest wait I saw for Space all day long was only like 30-45 minutes! Even Splash was under an hour when I looked - I would have thought the line for that one would be monstrous on a hot day like that. Drank lots of water, hid inside when it got hot. I got a bit dizzy while waiting in line for Big Thunder, but we sat it off while watching Billy Hill and the Hillbillies afterwards. We also spent quite awhile playing in the Animation Building at DCA, singing along with the music loop and going to the Animation Academy - where we learned to draw Pooh. AGAIN. Seriously, every time we go in there, it's Pooh. We'd been joking with the CM about that when we went in there, and when the guy drawing it didn't do the little bee around Pooh's nose, we all immediately asked why no bee this time. The CM totally started laughing at us. :P We hung around for the next session and learned Mickey that time.
We had our own private showing of the tortilla movie. YAY! We were shouting along with it. Seriously, we need to come up with a Rocky Horror-esque interactive script for that one. Churros to anyone out there who can get a copy of that movie for me. GIMME GIMME I WANT SOME!
dcpesses pulled a SWEET stunt on the Jungle Cruise that got the whole boat roaring with laughter. During the headhunter scene, he ducked... and came back up with one of those arrow-through-the-head things on. Got the whole boat roaring with laugher - even the CM lost it! :D
We actually ended up beating the heat by heading over to Downtown Disney for an afternoon movie. We went and saw 'Click' which was pretty sweet. Very hilarious! It seemed a bit more serious than most Adam Sandler movies, but still more comedy-oriented (and still had its share of fart jokes). A couple of interesting twists, too, that I didn't see coming. I loved his neighbors - Adam Sandler fans should recognize them. If not, you're fired. :P And the Bed, Bath and Beyond guy totally rocked my world.
Hit a few more rides in the evening before settling in for Remember, in the infamous "CUT DOWN THE TREE!" spot. :P I was a good girl and made a rule: no photos allowed this time. I just sat and watched and enjoyed. They were missing a launch point, though. One of the ones off to the right of the castle wasn't working, and the spinners in the moat weren't working either. :(
Fantasmic afterwards, where I allowed myself to go photo crazy. Mostly Sorcerer Mickey. Again. ;) I've figured out the magic number for manual settings of that scene on my 70-300 mm lens. Woo! But while we were waiting for Fantasmic, the people in front of us WOULD NOT STOP SUCKING FACE. I'm not one to really care about PDAs or anything like that, but dear lord, they couldn't keep their mouths off each other. And they were LOUD about it. I mean, we could hear all the sucking noises clearly over the din. Dear lord, people! Anyways,
unspokenlonging got incriminating video of me totally rocking out and lip synching to "Take Me or Leave Me" while we waited. :P I have way too much fun acting like a dork in public. :P And then we watched a bunch of guys in the front row get freaked out when a cockroach ran by. Wimps! ;) But OMG, Monterey Jack was in the finale!! By the time I realized he was there, it was too late to get a picture. I freaked, though. I've NEVER seen him out before. Ever. He was the only Disney Afternoon character in my height range, too! EEEE!
Of course, only AFTER I got home last night did I read on the boards that the Jack Sparrow meet and greet character had been out. DOH!
Lots of pics, mostly of Sorcerer Mickey and Pirates (some good Jack ones!) are up here!
