To the ho that sits next to me in Conservation Bio:
Please shut up. Just shut up. For once in your life. The whole class is sick of hearing the idiotic drivel that comes out of your mouth. You whine about everything. You sit and talk to the person behind you and pass notes to them like you're still in third grade. You wear flip flops on a hike, and complain about how you will get your nice pants dirty, when clearly you were too dumb to think ahead and wear clothes that were good for, y'know, HIKING. So please do us all a favor and stop coming to class, before we have to gang up on you and beat you. Kthnxbye.

Okay, now that that's out of the way... I finally wisened up today in lab, and just brought the Excedrin Migraine bottle with me to class. I popped a couple as soon as I felt a headache starting to come on (yes, right there in the middle of the trail), and it's okay so far... we'll see how it feels later tonight. We were out hiking in Torrey Pines. Again. That's four Torrey Pines field trips in three semesters now. It wouldn't be so bad if they'd pick a different trail! NO MORE PARRY GROVE TRAIL, PLEASE!

Buuuuuutt... there were DOLPHINS this time! Whee! Simo's husband (who used to manage that park) was going off about the same bark beetle and wildfire lectures I've heard a million times over. Personally, I had a LOT more fun watching the 3 bottlenose dolphins foraging and playing in the cove in the distance. No one else noticed them for a VERY long time, and I wasn't about to interrupt. But they were cute! We ran into them again later, too, when they seemed to be just resting/logging. And of course, that's the one time I didn't bring my camera to lab. *headdesk* I think the world conspires against me to keep me from getting wild dolphin photos. At the old Marineland site last December, I only had my 18-55mm lens with me, this time I didn't have my camera at all, and last time I went on a whale watch cruise, we saw NOTHING. :P Anyways, Torrey Pines is sort of a whale/dolphin hotspot, so it'd be nice to go there more often to go looking for them. But they freakin' charge $6 for a day use fee. Grrr. I suppose I could always use one of the free lots and hike in - it'd just be a LONG, uphill walk to the trailheads.

Been playing Pharaoh a lot. I haven't played that in ages - it wasn't even installed on this computer, and I've had this one for a year and a half now. Anyways, I upped the difficulty level from what I've done in the past, and haven't been doing TOO badly. Although I got pwn3d by the Pharaoh's army last night after I ran out of money. Doh!

I also had a REALLY weird dream last night. I don't remember much of it, but I remember that I was walking around my old neighborhood up in Washington, walking my dog, when I came across a site where they were filming Stargate. Dr. Jackson was playing some intergalactic SkeeBall game, and I spent forever talking to one of the crew about the strategies involved in SkeeBall. Dr. Weir was there, too, at some negotiation dinner event, but she had LONG hair (like, halfway down her back) and it was weird. :P I think I need to lay off the caffeine before bed.

I would also like to state, for the record, that when I got tacos at Taco Bell on the way home today, they put a spork in my bag. As if a spork will help me eat tacos.

Sporks make everything better!
Kirsten[info]xfkirsten on May 2nd, 2006 12:45 am (UTC)
Oh, no doubt! Sporks are an amazing invention. I'm just confused as to why Taco Bell suddenly feels the need to provide one for my tacos. ;)

It's okay. I have, many a time, gotten the "White girl probably don't want no hot sauce." They look at me and say "You don't want hot sauce, right?" Um... yeah, I do, actually. Just because I'm white means very little in terms of hot sauces. That one always bugs me. It's a huge stigma in this state.

Sporkage makes the world go 'round... Especially when you snap off the two outer tongs and color the spork to make it look like Mr. T.

Kirsten[info]xfkirsten on May 2nd, 2006 03:27 am (UTC)
Damn cracka! :P I actually hate anything remotely spicy, so that one holds true for me. ;)

Well, the spork they gave me was already black... /going to hell
almandot[info]almandot on May 2nd, 2006 01:01 am (UTC)
Do not question the power of the spork!

Dude. Dolphins are the biggest tease ever. Was in Hawaii on a boat coming back from snorkling and they start jumping up and down in the distance, and my dad and sister decide to send *me* back to the upper deck for the video camera. I run up and back down and they're gone of course and everyone on the boat is raving about how they came right up to the boat and swam along with us. I debated never talking to my dad and sister ever again. ;P
Kirsten[info]xfkirsten on May 2nd, 2006 03:27 am (UTC)
Oh, I do not question it, not at all! :D

LMAO! I would have had the camera in hand already, just in case. :P

Well, sporks have many uses.
Kirsten[info]xfkirsten on May 2nd, 2006 03:28 am (UTC)
Indeed they do! Maybe Taco Bell is just trying to empower me with teh sporky goodness.

LMFAO! I know it's probably unfair to say it, but this just made my day. Thank you. :p

You're welcome! ;) Everyone needs a good vent from time to time. :P
Amie[info]hipapheralkus on May 2nd, 2006 01:53 am (UTC)
There was a guy in one of my CS classes who was just as annoying. He'd start an argument with the prof almost every class, and honestly I dont' think he knew how to shut up. *sporks both of them* :)

And yes, lol, lay off the caffeine before bed :p. Although I when have weird dreams caffeine plays no part in them so...
Kirsten[info]xfkirsten on May 2nd, 2006 03:31 am (UTC)
This girl doesn't argue, but she just doesn't SHUT UP. Seriously, anyone sitting in on the class for the first time would think that it was a sporting event, with her cheering and heckling. *headdesk* She's dumb as a rock, too.

At least those sorts of dreams are entertaining! :P
Anastasia[info]zerofantasym on May 2nd, 2006 02:16 am (UTC)
OMG! Annoying people in class are so.... annoying. Grrr.

Hey I want your labs!! Mind if we switch places? I could graduate for you and you could have another 3.5+ years of college!! :p *feels mean*

How could you not bring your camera you??? Ok well that's how I'm going to be at Disney, without a good camera for awhile. I guess I could use a disposable one for the first few weeks..

I want yout dreams too! Lizzie with long hair? DUDE! I must see that!!! Seriously, I haven't had stargate dreams in like.. forever!...

OMFG did you forget about your MSN?? :P
Kirsten[info]xfkirsten on May 2nd, 2006 03:32 am (UTC)
No, really, that's okay, you can keep your classes. :P

I had it in my car, and the professor was like, "Nope! Water bottles only!" *cries* And you need a camera so I can see pics! :P

It actually looked kinda cute, it was just really different. :P

OMFG I've been playing computer games again all afternoon! ;)

Heee! Stupid people are on this planet for me to mock them. Constantly. And make snarky remarks behind their backs. :P

On a random note: The Taco Bell close to where I work was closed today, and I'm guessing it was due to the immigration protests. Which is surprising to me because I work in Irvine... and yours in San Diego was open? Not fair! :p
Kirsten[info]xfkirsten on May 2nd, 2006 10:36 pm (UTC)
LMAO! Come to think of it, that probably explains the long line I waited in. ;) Maybe the Taco Bell I went to is just the rebel Taco Bell. :P

Acupuncture, baby, acupuncture! That's all I have to say. Or maybe I could add acupressure, but I don't know if it works 'cause I never tried it. :) I am glad to hear that the Excedrin Migraine worked and didn't make you sick. I tried it once and it made be so ill that I was in bed for hours feeling like all the veins in my body were going to exploded. But, such is the nature of migraine meds.

That is so cool you saw dolphins on your hike! :) Ahhh, Pharaoh - I love that game. But, I love anything involving Ancient Egypt. ;)

Next time I drive by your parents' house I'll keep an eye open for your Stargate buddies. *grin* You should come back and visit your parents and then we can hang out, go to the new Irish pub in Kirkland. And Lizzie will be back at the end of May, so we could all go partying! Whoohoo!!

It is another smiley face day because it is sunny and 70 in Seattle! Yay! It is time we had some sun here. It snowed at our parents' houses on Saturday. For 2 hours! Isn't that freaky. I was over to see Shala and the flakes were coming down hard.
Kirsten[info]xfkirsten on May 3rd, 2006 07:39 pm (UTC)
But... but... needles! Agh!! The Excedrin Migraine works if I can catch it early enough. Problem is that I'm generally away from home when it starts to come on, so I don't have access to a bottle and thus it does me no good. :(

I still have no idea what's going on with me when I graduate, LOL. I extended my lease for another month, so I'll be here at least through June. HOPEFULLY I'll be getting a job down here, if I can find one, and after that I can start making more concrete plans! :D

I heard about the snow. At the end of April! That's crazy!
